How it works
The code stores your network name, password and security type in a standard Wi-Fi payload. When a customer scans it with their iPhone or Android camera, the phone shows a “Join network” prompt — no typing, no reading tiny print, no giving the password out loud to the whole room.
- Enter your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears on devices — capitalization and spaces included.
- Type the password and pick your security type. Most routers made in the last decade use WPA/WPA2/WPA3.
- Optional: add your logo and match the colors to your brand — the tool warns you if the contrast gets too low for phones.
- Download a PNG for a display or frame, or an SVG for professional printing.
Where businesses put theirs
- A framed card at the register or on cafe tables.
- The back of the door in guest rooms, suites or rentals.
- A sticker on the wall near seating — dark code on a light background, at least 5 cm / 2 in across.
- Receipts or menus: “Scan to join our Wi-Fi.”
Good to know
- Change the password, reprint the code. A Wi-Fi code is static — it stores the password itself. If you rotate passwords regularly, keep the printed code somewhere easy to swap.
- Scanning never reveals the password unless the user inspects the code contents — anyone you let on the network could share it anyway, so use a guest network with client isolation if that matters to you.
- Test before you print. Scan the preview with one iPhone and one Android phone and confirm both join. Keep the white quiet-zone border intact.
Common questions
Does a Wi-Fi QR code work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Both iPhone and Android cameras recognize the standard Wi-Fi QR format and show a join-network prompt when scanned. No app is required.
Is a Wi-Fi QR code secure?
The code stores the network name, password and security type — anyone who scans it can join, which is the point. Put it on a guest network, ideally with client isolation, rather than your business's main network.
What happens if I change my Wi-Fi password?
A Wi-Fi QR code is static: it encodes the password itself, so a new password requires a new code. Reprint and swap the sign when you rotate passwords.
Can I add my logo to the Wi-Fi QR code?
Yes. Upload your logo and it appears in the center of the code; error correction is raised to its highest level (30%) to keep it scannable. You can also pick a pattern style (rounded, dots, diamond), shape the corner eyes, and match the colors to your brand — then test the finished code with two phones.
Does the generator upload my Wi-Fi password anywhere?
No. The code is generated entirely in your browser, and the network details never leave your device.
More than a code
That sign is a marketing asset
Wi-Fi signs get looked at more than almost anything else in your business. Profit can design a full set of marketing for your location — short videos, social posts, QR codes, email — all sharing one message and look.
